Tea productivity – Kenya

Tea has long been considered a “hero crop” by international agencies, governments, and producers. In parts of the world there is a significant decline in productivity due to poor land management practices.

Tea plantations vary in productivity and yield. Some variations are due to natural conditions, whilst others are come from poor management practices. Sensonomic found significant variations within fields and between plantations, which provided important information for further investigation. Erosion risk, irrigation patterns, and pest detection are important next steps of the project.
